LG To Unveil Integrated Vehicle Controller Platform At CES 2025

LG Electronics, in collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, will unveil its new Cross Domain Controller (xDC) platform at CES 2025. This innovative platform integrates In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) into a single chip, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Ride Flex System-on-Chip (SoC). The xDC platform aims to enhance vehicle performance and redefine the mobility experience by offering a centralized solution for modern vehicles’ complex functionalities.

The Snapdragon Ride Flex SoC is designed to streamline vehicle operations by combining automated driving, computer vision, ADAS, and IVI capabilities into a single chipset. This integration enables the simultaneous processing of data from multiple systems, improving efficiency and reducing component costs. The platform also introduces “ADAS confidence view,” a feature that displays critical driver assistance information, such as lane departure warnings and proximity alerts, alongside real-time traffic data.

The xDC platform offers a more intuitive user experience, providing drivers and front-seat passengers with easy access to navigation, safety system alerts, and even lifestyle information like local promotions. The system’s flexibility and multifunctionality are made possible by the Snapdragon Ride Flex SoC, which is Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL)-D certified, ensuring the reliability of critical vehicle functions.

LG and Qualcomm plan to demonstrate the xDC platform at CES 2025, showcasing its potential in the era of software-defined vehicles.
