The Wizard of Oz is Coming to the Las Vegas Sphere

Because of the primary Wicked film and its upcoming sequel, there’s some Wizard of Oz fever going round. The unique 1939 movie celebrated its eighty fifth birthday final 12 months forward of Depraved, and now it’s getting the highlight as soon as extra because of the Las Vegas Sphere.

Starting in August, the venue will present a “totally immersive expertise” for Wizard of Oz that can play on the Sphere’s 160,000-square foot display. Made in collaboration with Google, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Magnopus, this new model of the movie can be “enhanced” with present expertise whereas “sustaining the integrity of the unique.” Sphere hasn’t detailed what immersive components can be featured but.

The movie is a part of Sphere’s new give attention to authentic leisure outdoors of live shows and stay occasions, and is the primary older film to get an immersive expereince from the Vegas vacation spot. Based on Sphere Leisure CEO Jim Dolan, the immersive experiences will present “a various  slate that leverages Sphere’s energy as an experiential medium.” Each Wizard and its successor expertise From the Edge are hoped to push the corporate’s imaginative and prescient “in several methods.”

If that sounds thrilling to you, the Wizard of Oz will open on the Sphere on August 28.
