At MWC 2025 in Barcelona, Xiaomi unveiled its latest electric scooter, the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 5 Max, featuring a powerful 1000W motor and a range of up to 60 km (37 miles) on a single charge. Designed for urban commuters, the scooter boasts a sleek, foldable carbon steel body, capable of supporting weights up to 120 kg (264.5 lbs). With a top speed of 20 km/h (12.4 mph), it is equipped to handle inclines of up to 22%, making it suitable for varied terrains.
The scooter is powered by a 477 Wh battery, which can be fully charged in 3 hours using a fast charger or 9 hours with the standard charger. It features 10-inch tubeless tires, dual shock absorbers, and a dual suspension system—hydraulic spring at the front and dual spring at the rear—ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride. Safety is enhanced with a dual braking system, combining a front drum brake and a rear electric brake, along with a traction control system (TCS) for improved stability, especially on wet surfaces.
The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 5 Max also includes a multifunctional display on the handlebar, showing speed and battery levels, and is equipped with an automatic headlight, a red rear light, and IPX5 water resistance for the body (IPX6 for the battery). It can be controlled via the Xiaomi Home app, compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
Priced at €599.99 (~$622), the scooter is available in black and can be purchased through Xiaomi’s official website. Alongside the scooter, Xiaomi expanded its AIoT lineup with the launch of the Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro, Watch S4, and a new color for the Smart Band 9 Pro, reinforcing its commitment to smart, connected devices.
